Today at Money20/20 2019, Dwolla, Inc., a financial technology company that offers a seamless, white label API platform to connect to the ACH Network, announced technology to complement its Partner Ecosystem.

Dwolla’s partners offer the leading international payments, bank verification, identify verification, card issuance and fraud tools and services to businesses. When complemented by Dwolla’s powerful payments platform, those businesses can better grow and scale.

The Integration Partner Program, one of four programs offered in the Dwolla Partner Ecosystem, offers more seamless technical integrations between Dwolla, the partner and their mutual clients, which clears the path for new payment modalities and more flexible funds movement. For example, Dwolla’s integration partnership with Apto Payments will allow businesses to issue branded payment cards. With Apto, Dwolla clients are offered a mechanism to instantly transfer funds on the ACH Network to a branded card, bypassing a bank account.

“We’re excited to join our customer-centric peers as the newest member of the Dwolla Partner Ecosystem as an Integration Partner,” said Meg Nakamura, Co-Founder and CEO at Apto Payments. “Not only does the ecosystem give us the opportunity to access new clients, it allows us to do so while keeping security at the forefront of everything we do.”

Dwolla, Inc. is a financial technology company that offers businesses an onramp to the Automated Clearing House Network, the electronic funds-transfer system used by U.S. financial institutions that moves $51 trillion annually. The Dwolla Partner Ecosystem was formed to provide businesses with access to services that can help them automate processes, manage vendors, increase time to market and ultimately scale effectively. Dwolla’s new technical integration technology gives third parties the ability to integrate with existing Dwolla applications giving integrating partners the ability to serve Dwolla’s entire client base.

Third party integrations can be built with Dwolla client applications in three tiers:

  • Read: Allows transmission of data to third-party application for notifications, analysis and reporting within the Dwolla ecosystem.
  • Read and Write: In addition to analyzing the data within the Dwolla ecosystem, partners can create, update and delete resources.
  • Read, Write and Transact: Dwolla partners can transact on behalf of a client and facilitate the transfer of the funds without having to be responsible for the data themselves.

“Our clients are evolving quickly and require access to solutions that connect the various platforms they are using,” said Ben Milne, CEO and co-founder, Dwolla. “We’re launching our partnership with Apto and releasing our integration tiers to allow clients and partners to do more with Dwolla. We’re doing it more seamlessly and at scale than ever before.”

As part of the Dwolla Partner Ecosystem, partners have access to each other’s networks, which account for billions of dollars in transactions each year. Other notable members of the Integration Partner Program include Plaid, Sift, Quickbooks, and Slack. Dwolla is actively seeking additional Integration Partners to help in its vision of supporting the value layer of the internet.
