BT, one of the world's largest suppliers of financial trading systems, today announced the launch of the touch screen version of ITS.Netrix, a new addition to the ITS.Netrix multimedia desktop family.
BT's ITS.Netrix architecture enables a range of software and physical user devices to be produced that closely match different trading needs. This inherent flexibility stems from the software-based architecture and Linux operating system at the core of the ITS.Netrix design.
The ITS.Netrix range of devices signals a move of intelligence from fixed proprietary equipment, in the trading building, to network-centric implementations, so a user can access trading communications and collaborate anywhere from any device.
Voice, video, web, email, chat, instant messaging, mobile and other compatible client systems can be integrated seamlessly into the ITS.Netrix user environment.
The unique capability of both fully converged, high-performance voice-over-IP and traditional voice connectivity from the same device enables a managed and more cost-effective migration to a fully converged communication infrastructure. Dual IP interfaces provide for high levels of resilience and failover. Available in black and silver, the ITS.Netrix range offers rich colour displays and context-sensitive user interfaces that enable more effective team collaboration and real-time prioritisation.
ITS.Netrix has seen rapid uptake since its launch and has been rolled out to 3,000 positions in 12 countries throughout the world. Major buy-side institutions in the US have already invested in the ITS.Netrix touch screen version, with over 150 positions planned for use in Boston alone.
According to Rod MacDonald, manager director, Trading Systems, Global Financial Services, "The ITS.Netrix has really changed what people have come to expect from a communications device on the trading desktop. It offers all the reliability, connectivity and speed you expect from a traditional turret and provides fully converged IP and traditional TDM connectivity from the same device with no difference in user functionality."
BT's ITS.Netrix range continues to set the standard for multimedia user devices, maximising trader effectiveness and enabling truly converged communication and collaboration. The device gives the user command of all communication channels. Examples of these include video streaming direct to ITS.Netrix for news on demand and coherent presence-enabled directories and integrated instant messaging for rapid contact with key colleagues and clients.
MacDonald, adds, "ITS.Netrix offers an advance in the Virtual Trading Organisation, with anytime, anywhere trader communications that offer our customers unrivalled business continuity solutions, governance/compliance and trading effectiveness."
