Banco Português de Negócios extends TietoEnator IT contract to core banking

TietoEnator's and Banco Português Negócios' (BPN) current co-operation on the modernisation of the bank's core bank system, has been expanded in the services area making TietoEnator the prime IT-partner for the bank's modernisation programme in core banking.

The new order value for TietoEnator is in the range of 12 million EUR over the next two years.

It was in December 2004 that BPN decided to base its core banking modernisation programme on TietoEnator's solutions in Core Banking. According to the new agreement TietoEnator will deliver programme management services, implementation services, migration and software development services in close partnership with BPN and Datacomp, distributor of TietoEnator's banking solutions in the Iberian market.

José de Oliveira Costa, President of Banco Português de Negócios, is pleased with the deepened co-operation. "BPN has an aggressive ambition with the modernisation programme and after working with TietoEnator and investigating their software solutions and also their services regarding modernisation transformations, we have decided to extend the partnership to take full advantage of TietoEnator's special competence, experience and defined services in this area."
