Wombat Financial Software, the standard bearer in high speed market data connectivity, announced today that EdgeTrade Inc. has licensed The Wombat Platform to enhance the utility of Execution Management System, EdgeTrade's independent, agency front-end platform for trading of single stock and basket equity orders.

The decision to choose Wombat was based on the speed and comprehensiveness of Wombat's market data integration software.

"Wombat's enterprise-ready, low latency solution will greatly benefit the buy-side and sell-side traders who turn to EdgeTrade for our innovative, agency algorithmic strategies and anonymous executions," said EdgeTrade CEO, Joseph Wald.

"Speed is too critical a determinant of successful trade execution to take chances on systems not designed for the rigors of automated trading," remarked Danny Moore, COO of Wombat. "Wombat's pure focus on high speed market connectivity helps innovators like EdgeTrade win by allowing them to tap ultra low latency data through an off the shelf product line we're committed to supporting and evolving as the markets change."

High frequency trading participants across the brokerage, market making and hedge fund communities are increasingly turning to The Wombat Platform to solve their data integration problems. By exposing the world's markets through an integrated API suite and extensible data model, these customers, including seven of the ten largest brokers, are able to focus on their business with the assurance their market data systems are as fast as any available in the market, and up to the challenges of today's swelling data volumes.

The Wombat Platform combines a range of data feed handlers with a messaging platform that eases the task of integrating high speed data into one's applications, be they for market making, trading, analytical or other purposes. A suite of programming interfaces, distribution servers, entitlements control utilities and monitoring tools allows customers to access the data they need, while maintaining tight control over their systems.
