Member Driven Technologies (MDT), a CUSO that hosts the Episys® core platform from Symitar® to provide a private cloud alternative for core processing and IT needs, today announced that OUR Credit Union has successfully implemented the Symitar® Episys® core processing platform hosted by MDT.

Royal Oak, Mich.-based OUR CU has been serving individuals, families and businesses within its community since 1959. The credit union began its search for a new core provider because it had outgrown its original system, and the manual processes and data entry did not provide the member experience the credit union wanted.

During the search for a new core provider, the credit union sent decision makers to MDT’s annual client conference where they learned more about the company’s services and connected with peers to talk about best practices, trends and issues currently impacting the credit union space. Learning firsthand about other credit unions’ success with MDT, OUR CU made the decision to partner with them and successfully converted to the Episys platform hosted by MDT in October.

“Though conversion processes can be daunting, the MDT team ensured that our transition was as seamless as possible, and everything went extremely well,” said Tina Dix, president and CEO of OUR CU. “MDT provided our staff with quality training and has been constantly available to answer any of our questions which is very reassuring when making a transition to a new system. We were able to maintain the consistent service our members have come to expect from us.”

Since converting, OUR CU has increased many efficiencies and decreased the operational processing time for staff, allowing them to concentrate on more strategic activities such as cross-selling and serving members. And, the credit union’s members now have access to valuable and competitive services, such as various deposit and lending solutions.

“OUR CU took the important step of investing in technology to create better efficiencies for its institution today and into the future,” said Larry Nichols, CEO of MDT. “By outsourcing with MDT, the credit union can be more member-focused and less inundated with burdensome tasks. We look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
