Quantum5, which specializes in advanced best execution technology for the financial services industry, now offers the first commercially available near-real-time trade analysis platform for equities and option trading.

The near-real-time services, delivered exclusively through Quantum5's Market Surveillance Engine, generate price exception and missed fill alerts for domestic equities, pink sheets, OTC bulletin board stocks, as well as exchange listed options.

"There is no business in which timeliness of information is more critical than in financial services," said Ben Brown, vice president for product management at Quantum5, whose announcement of the near-real-time product coincides with the Securities Traders Association of Chicago's annual convention this weekend. "Our technology allows bad trades to be corrected same-day. For market centers, we allow for trade correction before the bad trade or missed fill ever becomes a problem. And we empower the broker- dealers to immediately seek corrections on poor fills before their investors ever know they were disimproved."

Users of Quantum5's Market Surveillance Engine also have the ability to implement several user management and data control options. These can be customized using various enterprise service modules to ensure that each trader sees only the alerts affecting their transactions. The system also allows a manager to view supervisory reports on all traders.

"Our commitment to continually pushing the envelope with near-real-time alerts and intraday reports has drawn a great response from the industry," said Rod Taylor, vice president of business development for Quantum5. "Our products and tools help our clients achieve better executions. Given the aggressive competitive landscape of this industry, the implications of execution performance, both good and bad, now reach far beyond compliance."

Quantum5's best execution platform, already deployed at a number of the nation's largest brokerages and market centers, also scales to be affordable for smaller firms seeking a competitive edge. Near-real-time alerts combined with the Market Surveillance Engine's sweep-the-book capabilities provide pertinent business intelligence and industry leading analyses, in addition to industry standard NBBO statistics and the SEC's 11Ac1-5 and 11Ac1-6 reporting requirements.
