SmartPesa, a specialised payments and agency banking technology solutions provider based in Singapore, today announced its partnership with Nigerian e-commerce and e-payments company NetPlusDotCom to launch its cutting-edge payments gateway in Nigeria.

Working with leading point-of-sale (POS) terminal provider BBPOS, SmartPesa introduced its end-to-end agency banking solutions in Nigeria to provide acquiring merchants with a smoother payment experience, simplified transaction processing and detailed reconciliation reports.

NetPlusDotCom has entered the market with mPOS Bluetooth WisePad2 and desktop Standalone miniPOS WisePas2 Plus terminals, which support full chip-and-pin (Visa, MasterCard, UnionPay, Verve) and contactless (payWave, payPass) payment acceptance. The accompanying mobile application is used to review transaction history, accept payments, perform refunds, complete customer balance inquiries, and allow for cash advances. NetPlusDotCom is formally certified by the Nigerian Inter-Bank Settlement System Plc to deploy the cost-effective and compliant EMV terminals.

SmartPesa enables NetPlusDotCom to expand its offering from purely online e-commerce, establishing its presence as a market-leading service provider in the brick-and-mortar merchant market.

As the market leader in next-generation POS solutions, SmartPesa works closely with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to bring payments and agency banking to businesses across Southeast Asia and Africa. With a presence in five countries and powering transactions for over 10,000 SMEs, SmartPesa’s regulatory and standards compliant software-as-a-service delivers a range of transaction banking services to merchants in a fast-changing payments landscape.
