UK based regulatory technology firm VoxSmart is helping Singapore’s leading energy and commodity firms boost revenue and manage risk by enabling employees to trade across Instant Messaging platforms like WeChat and WhatsApp.

VoxSmart, who have pioneered mobile communication surveillance since 2014, are experiencing significant growth in the region after launching their WeChat capture solution as a Global FinTech Hackcelerator finalist at last year’s Singapore’s FinTech Festival.

VoxSmart’s proprietary technology VSmart™, initially launched as a solution to help banks and financial institutions achieve compliance on their corporate issued mobile devices. However, in light of the growing popularity of social media and instant messaging platforms like WhatsApp and WeChat within global financial markets, VoxSmart has evolved to enable capital markets traders and brokers to truly embrace mobility by allowing them to communicate with clients, and execute trades away from the desk. “While there are many different variations in the technology market, VoxSmart have a creative solution to our regulatory needs” said Christopher Mansfield, Head of Compliance at BGC.

Since opening their first regional office in Singapore, VoxSmart have signed a number of new customers including ENGIE Global Markets, PVM Oil, BGC, Ginga Petroleum and Marex Spectron.

Chetan Jivan from ENGIE Global Markets explained that using VoxSmart’s solution helps them solve multiple business requirements. “VoxSmart’s solution enhances our flexibility for our demanding users, and satisfies our compliance needs. In energy markets, we need to remain flexible to ensure we don’t restrict our teams and it provides the scale to meet our compliance needs that can change so quickly”.

In 2016, the Monetary Authority of Singapore issued new guidance on cloud computing and outlined some of the advantages of adopting Cloud Service providers. VoxSmart, who rely on Amazon Web Services for cloud hosting and storage have a cloud based surveillance portal for users to view and download calls on demand.

Armik Ayoubdel, Chief Information Officer & Head of Electronic/Hybrid Markets APAC at BGC Partners said, “In the new world of ever increasing regulatory demand, we choose to partner with VoxSmart to deliver a recordable, storable and available on-demand compliance solution.”

Mr Jivan from ENGIE also added "From an administration perspective, VSmart™ from VoxSmart keeps us efficient without raising our costs and gives us more time to focus on our core day to day business.”

VoxSmart are returning to the MAS Singapore FinTech Festival this year and are currently delivering on an aggressive product roadmap to support their growing APAC customer base.
