As the largest acquirer in the UAE, Network International’s seamless support of Alipay will strengthen UAE merchants’ offering to the growing number of Chinese shoppers in the UAE. Network International will act as both settlement partner (merchant acquirer) and solution provider for mobile-based transactions via Alipay at points of sale and for online purchases. The payment company’s new N-Genius™ platform can facilitate multiple payment methods on just one device, so there is no need for merchants to invest in a separate machine to accept Alipay.

Paul Clarke, Group Head of Product & Innovation, Network International, said, “We are delighted to confirm that starting October, Alipay, the preferred payment method for over 520 million Chinese shoppers, will be integrated as a standard across our entire UAE merchant network. Leveraging our N-Genius™ platform, our merchants and their Chinese clients can look forward to a quick, seamless and hassle-free payment experience.”

The partnership between Alipay and Network International complements the UAE’s commitment to extend its support to Chinese visitors and those working and doing business in the UAE. Today’s announcement is aligned with Network International’s mission to enable commerce in the region by introducing innovative payment technologies and solutions for easier, safer and secure payment transactions.
