Hang Seng Bank will roll out its Commercial Banking WeChat Official Account (‘WeChat Account’) tomorrow, providing SME and commercial customers with a new and convenient channel for receiving updates from the Bank.
This new initiative will enable customers to enjoy ‘anytime, anywhere’ notification of service updates and their account activity via a highly popular social media platform for mobile devices.
Donald Lam, Head of Commercial Banking at Hang Seng, said: “We are committed to providing customers with convenient, swift and comprehensive service solutions through investments in technology. The launch of our WeChat Account reflects ongoing efforts to engage customers through simple and direct channels and ensure our services integrate with their increasingly mobile business lives in a dynamic operating environment.”
After searching for ‘HangSengHKCMB’ in the WeChat app or scanning the Bank’s WeChat Account QR code, customers can follow the Bank’s WeChat Account and bind their Hang Seng Business e-Banking business profile to their own WeChat user account to activate the notification service. This will enable customers to receive mobile reminders from the Bank without relying on SMS, which should prove particularly useful for customers whose business frequently takes them outside Hong Kong.
The supported mobile reminders at service launch include confirmation of receiving and executing instructions for outward payments to non-designated beneficiaries and the Bank’s AutoPayment services, monthly account fee reminders, and notification of having successfully set up a new designated beneficiary via Business e-Banking. The Bank will expand the types of mobile reminders issued through its WeChat Account in the future.
The Bank will also use its WeChat Account to post updates on new digital service developments and other exclusive video content to ensure that SME and commercial customers remain fully up to date with the latest information about the Bank’s services.
The Hang Seng Commercial Banking WeChat Official Account is the latest in an ongoing programme of digital initiatives to enhance the service experience for SME and commercial customers. The Bank recently launched BERI, a Business Banking chatbot that uses artificial intelligence technologies to handle customer enquiries. Other initiatives include Live Chat, a round-the-clock online customer service channel on hangseng.com/business and an online platform that enables customers to provide account-opening information and upload related documents before visiting a Business Banking Centre to complete the procedure.
