The i5100, the flagship product in the Ingenico terminal range, is now poised for mass deployment on the French market.

On December 28, 2005, Ingenico obtained CB5.2 approval (VISA PED version) from the Groupement des Cartes Bancaires for its i5100 payment terminal. The top-selling terminal in the world today, the i5100 can now be deployed in France in compliance with the new global EMV payment standards.

The i5100 is an exceptionally compact, ergonomically designed payment terminal aimed at merchants eager to optimize their sales area. It includes an "easy-load" thermal printer and a separate PIN pad with large keys to make PIN code entry more convenient. Driven by IngeCore, a platform combining UNICAPT 32 architecture and Ingenico's HSC (High Security Core) chip, the terminal offers outstanding performance and security.

This latest certification prompted Pascal Mauzé, Director for France, to say, "We are extremely pleased with this new approval, because it gives us the opportunity to further expand our product offer on the French market. As the first compact terminal with a separate PIN Pad to hit the market, the i5100 is ideally suited to meet the needs of many retailers. We are convinced that in France, it will soon enjoy the tremendous success it has already achieved wherever it has been rolled out."

The i5100 is designed not only to replace former Ingenico countertop terminals (Elite 510 and Elite 710), but also to win over new customers looking for a compact, high-performance product. Ingenico, already the vendor with the largest installed base of payment terminals in France, fully expects to leverage this new terminal to strengthen its position on the French market.
