The company selected NFR's Sentivist Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) for its real-time monitoring and alert capabilities against all network threats, its ease of use, and cost efficiency.

CardOne Plus provides customized, branded debit card solutions for a global client base of merchant resellers, corporations, and users of eWallet solutions.

As the company grew, CardOne Plus sought to replace its Intrusion Detection System (IDS) with an IPS that could combat and prevent network threats, scale readily, and was easy to install and manage. The company considered a range of options, but only the NFR Security solution met all of the requirements. After an intensive two-week, on-site evaluation of the NFR solution, CardOne Plus implemented the innovative, real-time threat protection of Sentivist in September 2005.

"Sentivist was easy to install, the customer service is there when I need it, and I don't worry about network breaches with NFR Security in place. I definitely sleep better at night," said Jonathan Poole, CTO, CardOne Plus. "The other intrusion prevention systems I tested yielded a lot of false positives, while Sentivist provides powerful, 24 x 7 threat prevention for the CardOne Plus network."

Poole emphasized that Sentivist provides advantages to partners and customers as well as to CardOne Plus. "Sentivist helps us comply with most of the requirements for financial institutions set by national and international regulatory bodies."

The architectural simplicity of Sentivist has cut the time and resources needed for security system management and for future expansion, according to Poole. Once polices are built, Sentivist runs without the need for continual monitoring. "I was impressed with the scalability of the product," added Poole.

"CardOne Plus must have a solid security infrastructure in place to combat multifaceted network threats," said Andre Yee, president and CEO of NFR Security, Inc. "By ensuring real-time, 24 x 7 network protection against worms, viruses, trojans, and other dynamic threats, Sentivist helps CardOne Plus comply with industry regulations, address partner requirements, and provide a secure network for its customers' transactions."
