Monzo launches web interface

Digital challenger bank Monzo has launched Monzo Web, a lite web interface that lets customers access their accounts in an emergency.

Monzo customers can manage their accounts entirely in-app. Whether they’re requesting a PIN reminder, opening an overdraft or need some help from customer support, there’s no need to wait on hold or stand in line at a branch. But if they’re ever parted with their phones or wallets, Monzo Web can help them take the actions they need to get back to normal faster.

Customers can sign in to Monzo Web using the email address linked to their Monzo account to:
● View their 50 most recent transactions and,
● freeze or defrost their debit cards.

Francisco Carvalho Araújo, Product Manager at Monzo said: “We’re building a bank that lives on your smartphone. But if your wallet’s been stolen or you’ve lost your phone, it’s important to have a backup. Our community of customers told us they’d find it useful to access Monzo online, so we’ve built a basic web interface that everyone can use when they need to.”

Monzo’s ambition to “build a bank that lives on your smartphone” has driven the challenger bank’s app-only approach to its product since it launched in 2015. While continuing to build on its highly rated iOS and Android apps, Monzo recognises the importance of providing a web option for customers to use when they don’t have access to their phones or debit cards.
