Temenos (SIX: TEMN), the software specialist for banking and finance, announces a strategic partnership with MuleSoft, provider of the leading platform for building application networks.

By creating a channel for banks to capitalize on the modern technology in Temenos’ Core Banking platform, MuleSoft enables banks to better connect and serve their customers. As part of the technology partnership, Temenos will develop and support a Temenos Core Banking adapter for MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform, and establishing a standard, certified interface between MuleSoft and the Temenos Integration Framework.

More and more financial institutions are partnering with fintechs and leveraging Application Program Interfaces (APIs) to transform their infrastructure, attract new prospects, and delight current consumers through unprecedented Customer Experience (CX). This has led to a new paradigm of banks transforming into digital platforms, where banks leverage APIs to provide secure and scalable access to core capabilities to any employee, partner or customer, across any channel.

With new and upcoming regulations around the globe, such as PSD2 in Europe, it is necessary for banks to build a platform that integrates its capabilities with that of external service providers and partners and offer them to customers. Temenos has been creating relationships with incubators and accelerators across the world to foster an ever-growing open banking ecosystem that help banks operate more efficiently while adapting to new business needs. MuleSoft has worked with hundreds of financial services institutions to implement a digital platform where banks and third-parties can exchange APIs to unlock and combine data across the digital ecosystem and deliver innovative experiences. By partnering together, Temenos and MuleSoft will reduce barriers to deliver a seamless experience on a unified banking platform.

Temenos and MuleSoft will make a joint appearance at Sibos, in Toronto, CA on October 16-19, 2017 to showcase a demo of their integrated capabilities.

Neal McLoughlin, Head of Partners, Temenos commented: “MuleSoft has deep industry experience including enabling five of the top 10 global banks to create open banking platforms in order to improve their cost structure, upgrade legacy applications, capitalize on new revenue streams, and drive innovation to deliver new products and services. With MuleSoft, clients gain an experienced and knowledgeable partner to facilitate integration between our Core Banking platform and countless other applications and devices. We are pleased to partner with MuleSoft on this open banking initiative.”

Brian Miller, VP Business Development, MuleSoft commented: “MuleSoft's differentiators lie not only in its technology platform, but also its unique delivery approach, which drives sustainable change through holistic API lifecycle management, hybrid deployment, organizational enablement, and implementation best practices. By partnering with Temenos to break down barriers and deliver greater connectivity, we are aligning ourselves with a leader that is a catalyst for open banking and an enabler of digital banking to over 2,000 financial institutions globally. We are excited to partner with Temenos to help banks build application networks and drive their business forward.”
