BT, one of the world’s leading providers of communications services and solutions, today announced the appointment of David Payne as managing director, BT Radianz Services.
In his new role, David will be responsible for managing the evolution of BT’s dedicated suite of products and services focused on the financial services industry. These include the BT Radianz Cloud — the world’s largest secure networked financial services community, BT Radianz Messaging, BT Radianz Hosting and BT Radianz Venue Connect. These solutions are part of BT’s Cloud of Clouds portfolio strategy, which aims to give firms greater control over how they use cloud-based applications and services.
BT Radianz Services provide managed connectivity and hosting solutions for an existing community of thousands of financial institutions around the world, using low-latency access to financial markets secure messaging for clearing, settlement and payments.
David will also retain his wider role of chief operating officer for BT’s Global Banking & Financial Markets (GB&FM) global industry practice, with customers including the world’s largest banks, brokers, insurance companies, mutual societies, investment managers and exchanges in 180 countries. It delivers communications-based services that address the needs of organisations across the wholesale, corporate and retail banking as well as financial markets and payments sectors to increase their operational efficiency and security and help to improve customer service.
David has been instrumental in progressing BT’s acquisition of IP Trade, a provider of unified communications and collaboration solutions for trading floor environments and command-and-control dispatch centre, which was successfully completed in May this year. He is currently a board member at IP Trade SA.
David has been with BT for over 30 years in a variety of customer facing roles in Asia, US and UK, having originally joined BT in a sales role in the UK.
