Source: Revolut

We’ve launched personal Euro accounts! You can now receive payments from anyone, anywhere, including a salary.

Opening a bank account is a pain. There are a bunch of hurdles to jump through including credit checks, providing a proof of address and trips to a bank branch with your ID.

Our new feature enables all Revolut customers, across 42 European countries, to open a free Euro account straight from their smartphone. Whether you’re in the UK, Switzerland or Germany - you can open a personal Euro account in 60 seconds.

You get your own personal IBAN which you can use to get paid by anyone, anywhere, including a salary. When you send outbound transfers via Revolut, your name will appear as the sender on the beneficiary’s bank statement.

How to activate your EUR account

Existing Revolut users can activate their personal Euro account in a single tap. Go to the ‘Top Up’ tab in the app, select ‘By bank transfer’ and choose Euros. Then simply tap ‘Activate’ to generate your personal IBAN instantly.
