Caffè Nero chooses Yoyo Wallet for mobile payments and rewards

Yoyo Wallet, the UK’s most used mobile wallet, has been selected as the mobile payment and loyalty strategy partner for Caffè Nero.

The partnership, which will have implications for all Caffè Nero stores across the UK and Ireland, is Yoyo’s first significant step in taking their mobile wallet offering onto the high street.

It also further cements Yoyo’s status as the UK’s most used mobile wallet, building on the users already transacting at over fifty per cent of UK universities, including Imperial College London, University of Birmingham, and over one hundred corporate locations including offices at PwC, JP Morgan and Visa.

The partnership is the culmination of a relationship started in April 2014 when Yoyo Wallet, having won the Duke of York’s inaugural Pitch@Palace event, ended their pitch by making one simple request of the audience - an introduction to Caffè Nero founder Gerry Ford.

Yoyo Wallet was once again at Pitch@Palace last night (Wednesday 2 December) to officially announce the partnership. HM Queen Elizabeth II was also in attendance for the opening of Pitch 6.0.

Michael Rolph, Co-Founder & CRO of Yoyo Wallet, adds:
“We’re thrilled to be working with Caffè Nero and evolving the role mobile transactions play for them. For us, innovation around mobile transactions should go beyond just payment, creating a better in-store experience for both brands and their customers.”
