Adyen, the payments company powering global commerce for Uber, Facebook and Netflix amongst others, today announced a global partnership with online marketplace Etsy.
The technology partnership covers the United States, Europe and other key markets where Etsy operates marketplaces and provides services to its 1.7 million* sellers. Etsy has chosen Adyen to enhance the payments experience for its millions of buyers and sellers around the world.
By integrating with Adyen, Etsy is adding redundancy and resiliency to its payments platform, with a focus on providing a seamless customer experience. With Adyen, Etsy buyers globally can continue to pay using their preferred local currencies and payment methods.

We believe that this relationship will strengthen our ability to disburse payments to sellers quickly and reliably as well as our ability to offer our buyers the opportunity to pay with their payment method of choice.”
“Some of the largest companies in the world partner with Adyen to accept payments globally, enabling them to open new markets and optimize customer conversion in existing markets,” said Kamran Zaki, Adyen’s North America President. “Etsy has built a true community-centric global and local marketplace.
