Klarna rolls out online retailer financing

Today, Klarna, one of Europe’s leading payments providers, has announced the latest wave of partners to offer its financing solution in the UK.

Some of the world’s leading e-commerce platforms, including Shopify, Worldpay, BigCommerce, and CyberSource will now be able to make financing easily available to millions of British consumers through their network of online merchants.
This announcement follows Klarna’s launch in the UK in September with all of the Arcadia Group’s iconic brands - including Topshop and Miss Selfridge.

Financing a purchase over time has historically been optimised for brick and mortar stores. But the online equivalent can often be an ordeal, with redirects, lengthy forms and unclear information. Klarna’s process only requires a few fields of information, and lets consumers know instantly if they qualify for the financing solution.

By improving the user experience and offering consumers more flexible payment options, Klarna’s solution helps retailers and merchants of all sizes counteract the dropped basket effect, boosting retention, loyalty and sales.

Luke Griffiths, UK General Manager of Klarna, commented: “After the successful launch with fashion giant Arcadia Group, we’re excited to make this retail financing solution available to even more merchants and consumers across the UK. It not only delivers one of the most seamless solutions available today for people shopping online and on mobile, it also offers instant access to financing without redirecting customers away from the online store.”
