“As a pioneer in digital banking, DBS Hong Kong is committed to shaping the future of finance by transforming how we operate and serve our customers through digital innovation. We are excited to be one of the first in Hong Kong to support Apple Pay for a best-in-class mobile payment experience for our customers. This and other innovative initiatives will allow us to further explore and develop exciting ways to enhance and evolve how millions of people spend and pay everyday,” Ken Chew, Managing Director of Consumer Finance and eBusiness, Consumer Banking Group and Wealth Management, of DBS Bank (Hong Kong), said.

Security and privacy is at the core of Apple Pay. When you use a credit or debit card with Apple Pay, the actual card numbers are not stored on the device, nor on Apple servers. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored in the Secure Element on your device. Each transaction is authorised with a one-time unique dynamic security code.

Apple Pay is easy to set up and users will continue to receive all of the rewards and benefits offered by credit and debit cards. In participating stores, Apple Pay works with iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone SE and Apple Watch.

Online shopping in apps accepting Apple Pay is simple, without needing to repeatedly fill out lengthy account forms or type in shipping and billing information. When paying for goods and services within apps, Apple Pay is compatible with iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone SE, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 4 and iPad Pro.

DBS Hong Kong has and continues to invest considerable resources to drive innovation and digital banking, with many notable examples of first-in-market and award-winning initiatives in providing a joyful customer experience. Among them is iGO Rewards, an innovative one-stop travel rewards platform, and the award-winning DBS Omni Credit Card Companion Mobile App, which was launched early this year with four major “first-in-market” innovations. The popular app is a simple and intuitive mobile solution that provides a safe, secure and joyful banking experience for DBS credit card customers by enabling them to easily track and budget their spending and instantly redeem for cash rebates when they spend worldwide.
