Horizon Software is the leading global technology provider for electronic trading and investment management; its trading platform will enable Piraeus to perform market making for stocks and futures as well as pair trading. Horizon provides advanced market making capabilities and enables traders to hedge, both manually and automatically. Horizon’s Market Making Overview module allows Piraeus to ensure that it complies with all its market making obligations.

Horizon provides Piraeus with full native transaction and market data connectivity to the Athens Stock Exchange for cash equity and equity derivatives.

Sylvain Thieullent, CEO of Horizon Software, commented: “For an institution to be competitive in Delta-One products and options market making it needs technology which is both innovative and advanced. We have been leaders in this space for more than 15 years and our approach enables us to deliver a solution that best suits each client, as they can choose the modules they need. This is why we describe our technical approach as Trade your way.” He added: “Used across the world by investment banks, large and small, our approach allows us to provide an extensive range of features. When entering a new market like Greece, we always add local connectivity to give investment banks low latency access to markets. Adding connectivity to more and more markets helps us to continuously improve the way we respond to future client requirements.”

Over the last 17 years Horizon has built over 70 native gateways worldwide to help financial institutions grow and improve their trading capabilities in equity and derivatives markets.
