Ubizen certifies 3Delta Systems for Visa and MasterCard security programmes

06 April 2004  |  1335 views  |  0

Ubizen, the principal provider of Managed Security Solutions (MSS) for global businesses, has announced that it has completed security compliance assessments for 3Delta Systems Inc., an electronic payment gateway providing Internet-based credit card authorisation and settlement services.

3Delta Systems is now a certified payment gateway under MasterCard's Site Data Protection Service (SDP) and Visa's Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP). CISP and SDP mandate security industry guidelines defining a standard of due care and enforcement for protecting sensitive customer information. As the only managed security services provider certified by both Visa and MasterCard, Ubizen brings an unmatched level of expertise to the assessment process - allowing 3Delta Systems to become simultaneously certified in both credit card programs.

"Due to our reliance on secure ecommerce transactions, 3Delta Systems focused internal efforts on compliance when the programs were first introduced last year," said Aaron Bills, VP of business and product development for 3 DeltaSystems, Inc. "Having proactively increased our standards of compliance, we were looking for a security partner to not only validate our efforts and help us gain official compliance from Visa and MasterCard, but also improve our security posture moving forward. Ubizen's extensive expertise and impressive history in the market uniquely positions it to support our efforts at simultaneous compliance and provides us with practical insight on where the standards are today and where they may be going tomorrow."

Because the payment industry places a high priority on maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of account and personal data, both MasterCard and Visa require annual validation of all merchants and service providers, according to the guidelines specified by the CISP and SDP programs. 3Delta Systems led the industry in ensuring the effective and efficient compliance with the programs. As such, Ubizen conducted a thorough assessment of 3Delta Systems infrastructures, procedures and security practices. Ubizen delivered 3Delta Systems a management report detailing the impacts of the gap analysis, including:

  • A line-by-line review of the individual program requirements, followed by a indication whether the firm was in or not in compliance with the requirement and why
  • Recommendations aimed at outlining the most efficient and cost-effective path to satisfy the CISP and SDP requirements.

"Ubizen is the only approved vendor certified by both MasterCard and Visa to deliver these gap analysis assessments and can serve as a one-stop shop for any organisation required to comply with both programs," said John Wilson, VP and general manager of North America at Ubizen. "3Delta Systems has led the industry in taking proactive measures to address compliance and is the type of forward thinking company Ubizen is proud to partner with."
