As different transport and payment options will be integrated into one solution, end customers will benefit from an intuitive and seamless user experience. This will include route recommendations, the planning and booking in the public transportation sector as well as other options such as car sharing rides - all made in one booking with one secure transaction.

The new offer is based on SiMobility Connect, Siemens' B2B platform for mobility providers and operators, which integrates information from different modes of transport. Furthermore, it allows route planning and reservation of travel, for example via an app, and provides transactions such as ticket fulfilment. Wirecard complements SiMobility Connect with access to their payment gateway including comprehensive payment services and risk management in addition to banking solutions. The international footprint of both Siemens and Wirecard will enable scalable, transferable applications, which can be tailored to specific customer requirements, including a rich variety of payment options.

Jörg Möller, Executive Vice President Travel and Mobility at Wirecard: "We are very pleased to announce this partnership. The travel industry is often one step ahead in terms of payment technologies and I am convinced that transportation will also start to become a driver of innovation for the industry. Therefore we believe that this collaboration on intermodal transportation will be able to deliver a unique capability in the way we will travel in future."
