This is Mobilearth’s second banking client in the Central America region, as the company expects to see more growth for its services in the Caribbean and Central America. Heritage International Bank is a sister bank of one Mobilearth has already been serving for eight years – Heritage Bank.
According to Heritage International’s Director of Operations & Information Technology William M. Ysaguirre Jr., its previous technology was not as efficient as it could’ve been. There was a lot of manual work for employees and complaints from customers not able to serve them efficiently. It was time for a change.
Since Mobilearth already had an established relationship with the Heritage International’s sister bank, its online banking technology was a natural fit. Ysaguirre adds that they are now able to provide the same solution with the same benefits to its international customers – along with tailoring it to fit their specific needs.
“It comes down to having a single solution from a centralized site,” he says. “Instead of going to multiple areas for online banking services, now you just go to one. It’s much more efficient for everybody.”
Ysaguirre’s goal using Mobilearth’s technology is to expand Heritage International’s customer base, increase its transaction volume, and provide a solution that other financial institutions in Belize don’t have.
“I find Heritage International to be forward thinking and leaders of the financial community in Belize,” states Mobilearth CEO Tia Lee. “They are always first to market with new ideas that really bring home the convenience of mobile.”
