Factiva launches politically exposed persons database

Factiva, a Dow Jones and Reuters Company, today announced a new technical platform and data enhancements to its compliance tool, Factiva Public Figures & Associates, an authoritative global database of senior Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), their relatives and close associates as well as an extensive coverage of international sanctions and law enforcement lists.

The new release provides compliance professionals with some of the most advanced and powerful research tools available and includes secure Internet access to the entire Public Figures & Associates database as an alternative or complement to CD or feed delivery.

Richer content, a more intuitive user interface, powerful search options and increased integration potential, enable compliance officers to conduct due diligence to guard against money laundering with increased ease and accuracy. The improved tool includes an application program interface for easy integration into multi-vendor client applications, allowing bankers to conduct screening during the account opening process. It also provides an XML or CSV feed containing broader and richer structured content with an increasing number of sanctions list and law enforcement information to permit more efficient batch processing.

It also has a powerful new name searching capability based on close matches, free-text, and data types.
