Thomson Financial, an operating unit of The Thomson Corporation (TSX: TOC, NYSE: TOC) and leading provider of information and technology solutions to the worldwide financial community, today announced the launch of MMD Trade Tracker, an online suite of transaction flow reporting and analytical tools for live and historical MSRB trade data.
This new Thomson service enhances its leading TM3 platform which provides Municipal Securities market professionals with comprehensive municipal market data, including Thomson's proprietary MMD Yield Curves. The MMD Trade Tracker allows municipal bond traders, sales representatives, portfolio managers, analysts, and compliance professionals to intelligently monitor municipal bond trading flow in real-time, execute robust searches on historical transaction data, and get insightful market snapshots with detailed transaction flow reports.
Terry Griffith, Head of Thomson's Municipal Markets Group said, "With MMD Trade Tracker municipal market professionals now have at their disposal a powerful new tool to use as they capitalize on new transparency that now exists in this once opaque market."
Thomson is uniquely positioned to provide municipal market professionals with highly-valued, enhanced MSRB trade data. Its TM3 platform already is the recognized leader in providing comprehensive municipal market data, including MMD yield curves, market flow and commentary, security and deal data, along with new issue calendars and deal documentation. The MMD Trade Tracker complements these services. Thomson has integrated its MMD Yield curves into the MSRB data by providing spread information for each MSRB reported transaction. Users can also monitor the market with MMD Ticker, a component that streams trades as they occur. In addition, Thomson displays the 50 most active issues for the day on a real-time basis, providing traders and other market professionals with insight on where key trading activity is occurring.
MMD Trade Tracker provides an unprecedented window into municipal bond market trading. It is available as part of Thomson's municipal bond package on the Thomson One platform or as an optional service to Thomson's TM3 platform.
