SetPay, an mPOS solution provider in Spain, has chosen the payworks platform to launch its payment solution, lowering the entry barrier for card acceptance for small and medium sized local businesses and freelancers in Spain.

SetPay offers small and medium sized enterprise merchants (SMEs) a quick and cost-effective way to accept debit and credit card payments at the Point of Sale. Powered by the payworks platform, SetPay merchants will be able to register for the service quickly via a fully automated onboarding process. A mobile application for iOS or Android, together with a Chip & PIN card reader connected via Bluetooth, lets merchants start to accept EMV card payments right at the spot, independent from their location. The solution is designed to become part of a merchant’s and customer’s daily life, taking advantage of the familiarity of card payments at the Point of Sale and thus making customers feel at ease when purchasing. The applied EMV Chip & PIN solution guarantees a maximum level of security when transacting the payment.

David Pombar, CEO of SetPay: “The payworks platform is second to none and together with the team we will be working on exciting new features on top of our core payment solution in the coming months, fully leveraging the potential of digital technology at the Point of Sale. Our bet is on innovation and we are looking forward to launching unprecedented ways of merchant-customer interaction taking mPOS to the next level.”

Christian Deger, CEO and co-founder of payworks comments: “We are delighted to make a real contribution to the launch of an excellent mPOS solution by SetPay, enriching the payments landscape in Spain. Our two companies share a very similar vision and our team is looking forward to work with SetPay to explore the opportunities of mobile Point of Sale further.”
