Poland's Idea Bank introduces 'summer working hubs' for entrepreneurs

A deckchair instead of a desk chair, shorts instead of suit pants, flexible working hours instead of an 8-hour work day – these are all benefits of running your own company when there’s heat pouring from the sky.

Idea Bank encourages entrepreneurs to mix business with pleasure with two brand new Idea Hub summer working spots.

Idea Hub is a brand of innovative bank branches developed by Idea Bank for small business owners who have no offices to work in or suitable for business meetings. Two premises located in Warsaw at Marszałkowska 87 and Polna 11 are already in full swing, enticing entrepreneurs with a co-working space, office facilities and conference rooms perfect for inviting the contractors. Idea Hub’s visitors are provided with free Wi-Fi and free coffee. They also have access to daily updated press.

But the beautiful weather outside encourages us to spend more time outdoors and not within the office walls, so Idea Bank launched two summer Hubs for entrepreneurs to do exactly that. One, featuring a large garden, has been set up in Powiśle, and another – with a typical summer look – can be found at the Vistula beach, in the right-bank Warsaw, next to Poniatowski Bridge. Idea Bank’s visitors are now able to manage their businesses in the open and enjoy summer without interrupting their work.

- One of the greatest advantages of running your own business is being able to decide when and where you want to work. But our research shows that more than half of entrepreneurs never take a summer break. Those 30% who do manage their companies remotely from different vacation spots. That’s because of a psychological barrier that prevents entrepreneurs from leaving their businesses ‘unattended’, especially strong amongst young entities’ owners. We want to make them feel like on holiday, and in pleasant surroundings. That’s why we opened the new premises – offers Dariusz Makosz, Idea Bank board member.

Summer Idea Hub was established at the beginning of July. It’s a space created specially for the summer season, two-story, air-conditioned, and functionally resembling the ‘stationary’ Hubs (but also equipped with a sunny deck). The place does not offer banking services; it is aimed at promoting the Idea Hub brand. All visitors – not just Idea Bank’s clients – get free Wi-Fi access. Even though entrepreneurs will not encounter bankers at the Summer Idea Hub, they can always make an appointment with a so-called mobile advisor to open an account or take out a loan.

In the second week of July another premise was opened at Zajęcza 15. It also features a co-working area, bookable conference rooms and banking facilities dedicated to meetings with advisors. A beautiful garden of 180 square metres is a big asset. The branch is located in an elegant, exclusive building known as the Carpathia Office House, whose designers were inspired by Warsaw’s architecture of the 50s and 60s. Modernist stylistics fits right into Powiśle hood and brings about an air of corporate London, Munich and Vienna. At this address Idea Bank’s clients may enjoy the greenery and feel truly exquisite.

The innovative concept of Idea Hub network was put forward by Dominik Fajbusiewicz, Idea Bank board member. Iwona Bakuła and Marek Ałaszewski developed the design.

Summer Idea Hub is open Mon-Fri 10-8 and Sat-Sun 11-6. The Zajęcza branch is open Mon-Fri 10-8 and 8-2 on Saturdays.
