Satisfying both Union Bank’s mobile security requirements and employee demands to use personal or bring your own devices (BYOD), ZixOne streams corporate email to smartphones and tablets without allowing the data to reside on the devices.

“In our search for a solution that allowed secure mobile access to corporate data, we encountered a stumbling block with employees who were adamant that we not control their devices. Because the protection of client data is our first priority, we remained a closed shop to mobile devices until we implemented ZixOne,” said Don Goodhue, vice president of information technology for Union Bank. “ZixOne’s approach of giving us control of our data without managing employee devices provides a straightforward solution that makes everyone happy.”

Union Bank deployed ZixOne in less than a few hours, and employees easily downloaded the mobile app to their devices. With a simple interface that offers the look and feel of native mobile email experience, no training was needed before Union Bank employees began using the app.

“There is no admin overhead, and rollout was incredibly smooth,” said Goodhue. “Employees use ZixOne in the office for meetings or on the road with clients. It works great - ZixOne is exactly what we needed.”

“Mobile security doesn’t have to be difficult. IT can enable employees without jeopardizing security, and employees can experience the convenience of mobile access without sacrificing control or privacy,” said Rick Spurr, ZixCorp’s chief executive officer. “All are achieved by managing data not devices, and it’s our mission to educate companies that there is the better, easier way.”
