SmartStream Technologies, the financial Transaction Lifecycle Management specialist, today announced that it has expanded its global operations with the opening of a new office in Nairobi.

The office is the second in Africa, following the opening of Johannesburg in April 2013. The new operation will be led by Pritesh Kotecha, Senior Vice President for Middle East, Turkey, South Asia and Africa.

Commenting on the expansion, Mr Kotecha said: “The decision to open an office in Nairobi is demonstrative of SmartStream’s growing client base in Africa and the increased interest we are seeing from banks within the East African Community (EAC). The opening of this office, as well as the recent opening of an office in Riyadh, serves to reinforce SmartStream’s continued commitment to support its customers in Africa and the Middle East.”

Roland Brandli, Sales Manager, Africa, added: “With the continued growth of the banked population in Africa, many banks in the region are finding that manual processing and legacy systems cannot cope with the huge increase in transaction volumes they are currently experiencing. As a result, we are seeing increased interest in our solutions as a way for organisations to achieve greater efficiency and control, while reducing unwanted cost and risk from their middle and back office. There is a great deal of potential in Africa and SmartStream is ideally placed to help banks in the region to realise their future growth potential. I am looking forward to working with our existing and new clients to help them streamline and expand their business.”
