Since 2013, the product has been available in Australia. With a higher than average internet and smartphone usage, New Zealand has the perfect prerequisites for prepaid solutions, and is therefore an ideal addition to the paysafecard portfolio.

More than 87% of New Zealand’s population (4.4 million) use the Internet; the penetration of mobile devices is 100%. The rapid adoption of paysafecard in similar markets, where paysafecard has been introduced in the past, has shown that there is a high demand for this prepaid means of payment. paysafecard expects a similar demand and a rapid market penetration in New Zealand.

Udo Müller, CEO of paysafecard, commented on the latest expansion: “New Zealand is a digital information society and as such, based on our experience, particularly open-minded to quick and safe means of payment for the internet. That’s why we see paysafecard as an attractive and eagerly anticipated prepaid solution for customers in New Zealand. We are also pleased to have added the 40th country to the ‘paysafecard world map’. New Zealand is one of the most established economies and one of the digital flagship countries. As an essential part of the digital world, paysafecard fits perfectly into this environment and will soon hold a strong position in the local market.”
