Classic, the fast growing innovative mortgage network, has selected Exweb Broker in place of the Webline portal it previously used. Classic is initially taking 50 Exweb Broker licenses and expects this number to increase to 100 within the next six months to support its planned expansion.

Exweb Broker is a tailored version of Exweb, The Exchange's market leading portal service, designed specifically for brokers and intermediaries selling mortgages, protection and general insurance products.

Exweb Broker will help Classic's members to run their businesses efficiently and cost effectively by streamlining key business processes. Integrated services will enable them to research the market, produce single company and comparative quotes and submit new business applications electronically.

The portal will also provide links to product provider extranets, an integrated client database from which to pre-populate quotes/application forms, user support and help desk facilities.

Exweb Broker provides research, quotation and transaction services for term assurance, critical illness, income protection and general insurance policies. In addition, advisers will have access to mortgage services such as conveyancing, equity release and credit checking.

Tony Corrigan, managing director at Classic, comments: "Our move to The Exchange is exciting. We have chosen the Exchange because they provide the highest quality IT solution for our brokers, in line with our company philosophy, of an innovative, low cost, low intervention IT Mortgage Network. Exweb Broker is ideally suited to our current requirements and, in line with our planned expansion into additional market areas, the wider Exweb services will be of significant value in the near future."

David Child, managing director at The Exchange, comments: "We are delighted that Classic has made the decision to move to Exweb Broker. Classic's recognition that we can support their future expansion plans is a great testament of the comprehensive service we provide.

"What particularly excites us about Classic is there commitment to not only using our service for quotations, but that they are also demonstrating real business efficiencies through the submission of electronic applications to the product providers."
