Geoswift, a leading provider of cross-border payments between China and the rest of the world, today announced the establishment of a San Francisco office that will be the center of the firm's North American sales and client services practice in the United States.
Dana Nino, General Manager, will head the San Francisco office. Nino will be responsible for the US expansion of Geoswift's cross-border payments solutions with a primary focus upon the ecommerce and travel services sectors. Geoswift's ecommerce service delivers convenient, secure and regulated solutions for clearing into and out of China, allowing global merchants to collect payments from Chinese consumers in renminbi (CNY) and settle in local currency.
Geoswift's strategic expansion to the San Francisco Bay area puts the company in the heart of Silicon Valley, close to leading innovators in the payment industry as well as high growth companies that need payment solutions in China. Additionally, Geoswift is able to more easily develop new relationships with technology and online retail firms in need of efficient cross-border payments directly to and from the Chinese marketplace.
"Expanding into San Francisco is an exciting next step for our business, especially with Dana Nino leading these efforts," said Raymond Qu, CEO, Geoswift. "Dana's background in the payments space, deep expertise and industry knowledge enables us to work closely with existing clients and develop meaningful partnerships with firms in need of a payments provider with the local Chinese know- how and infrastructure to grow their business."
Nino has over 12 years of ecommerce and payments industry experience, with specific expertise working with cross-border and domestic payments products, pricing and customized product offerings for ecommerce and multichannel merchants. Dana has held leadership roles with PayPal, E4X, Mastercard and eBillme, working closely with top financial service providers, processors, gateways and enterprise retailers to build their strategy and help expand their brand and solutions into new markets with simplified, cost effective and pragmatic solutions.
"Throughout my career, one of the biggest payments challenges I have been faced with was how to easily and effectively settle payments in and out of China," said Dana Nino, General Manager, Geoswift. "This is what brought me to Geoswift and what I am excited to help US ecommerce, online retail, travel and other firms solve – understanding and overcoming the complex regulatory landscape in China to unlock the vast potential of that market."
