Payments, insights and loyalty specialist, The Logic Group, today announces its Point to Point Encryption (P2PE) solution on Verifone devices has been validated by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council's (PCI SSC), making it the world's first payment service provider to offer merchants a choice of PCI approved PIN entry devices with their P2PE solution.

This development further builds on the capability of The Logic Group's Solve DataShield P2PE solution, giving its clients the flexibility to choose either Ingenico or Verifone PIN Entry Devices (PEDs). By implementing The Logic Group's solution, card transaction data is encrypted at the point of capture, and securely transmitted across a merchant's estate: moving it outside of the Solve DataShield also supports both fixed and wireless terminals and is the only validated P2PE solution to offer a VeriFone wireless terminals. In addition, the company has announced it is also the first to undergo a P2PE solution revalidation, with its Ingenico solution, meaning these users can continue to reap the cost and time savings of a validated P2PE solution.

Robin Adams, Director of Technical Strategy & Architecture at The Logic Group, said: "The Logic Group is committed to helping customers minimise costs and maximise efficiencies by providing them with a full suite of compliant, high quality and high performance payment products and services. As part of our omnichannel managed service offering, we are helping merchants to reduce their PCI DSS scope across all channels.

"Validation of our Verifone P2PE solution now means that merchants are able to freely choose between the two leading providers of PED; so our customers are able to significantly reduce the scope of PCI compliance. We're continually investing in our offerings for all payment channels to ensure that we deliver our customers with the means to run their businesses as efficiently as possible."

Andy Chalklin, Group Director of IT, Pret A Manger who recently implemented a PCI Programme with The Logic Group commented: "I was impressed with the quality and depth of knowledge within The Logic Group about payments, PCI DSS and security more broadly. They were able to give me confidence that they knew what they were doing and it made the decision to select this new P2PE approach an easy one to make. It has certainly made my PCI task in Europe a significantly easier one."
