Fime Asian operations receive JCB accreditation for mobile and contactless

FIME has announced that its operations in Taiwan and Japan are the first and only secure-chip testing locations accredited to deliver functional testing services for JCB's J/Speedy mobile, and contact and contactless, products.

In addition to supporting JCB's international payment brand with testing services, FIME's Global test tool is also available for purchase as an off-the-shelf product for in-house pre-certification testing.

Using FIME's services to test JCB's J/Speedy products enables mobile handset, USIM and dual interface card manufacturers to confirm that the application layer of their products meets the requirements laid out by the payments system for all forms of contactless payment.

"FIME has been working with JCB since the launch of JCB's EMV Programme in 2005 so it's great to be the first testing provider to achieve this accreditation," comments Alex Chen, sales director of FIME Asia. "It also means that following our accreditation in March to test contactless terminals for JCB, FIME can now test the full mobile ecosystem in addition to its complete service offering for card manufacturers. This represents a significant expansion in our service offering to JCB stakeholders."

Commenting on the marketplace, Alex adds: "Asia is leading the development and manufacture of secure chip products globally and is currently preparing for the mass market roll out of mobile payments. It's therefore an important time for regional NFC handset and chip manufacturers as they are working at the cutting edge of product developments. We look forward to helping ecosystem stakeholders on-the-ground by using our global expertise in order to achieve quicker time to market, reduced costs and generally help customers bring seamless and secure transactions to market."
