OptionsCity Software, a global provider of electronic trading solutions for professional futures and options traders, today announced that the firm has completed certification with CME Group’s Market Data Platform (MDP) 3.0.
The MDP 3.0 is a low latency solution designed to improve customers’ ability to process and act on real-time market data. The certification ensures that OptionsCity customers will continue to remain competitive through lower latency direct access and a reduction in the gap between market data and order fills.
“We’re on constant vigil to ensure that our clients have seamless and optimized market access through our trading solution suite,” said Timo Pentner, COO at OptionsCity. “Our clients can continue to enjoy low latency connectivity and robust mass quoting, a hallmark of our flagship platform, Metro.”
“I am pleased to see our channel partner community embracing CME Group’s technological advances and initiatives,” comments Alan Shontz, Executive Director Channel Partner Management at CME Group. “Supporting MDP 3.0 allows customers to use our improved platform for more efficient data processing.”
CME Group’s MDP implements Simple Binary Encoding (SBE), which is optimized for faster processing and is less CPU-intensive, is being rolled out in phases, starting with CBOT Globex Equity Index Futures and CME Globex Interest Rate Options on September 29th. Remaining channels will migrate subsequently, completing in November.
Products available to OptionsCity customers through CME Group include interest rate futures and options, commodities, metals, FX, and energy products such as crude oil and natural gas.
This news arrives on the heels of OptionsCity’s Metro 5.2 release, which revs up automation and risk management in extended performance. OptionsCity is planning a major product release set to be revealed in the 4th quarter of 2014.
