Looking to grow its branch network and expand into the metropolitan area, Kinderhook Bank turned to Diebold, Incorporated (DBD) to help direct the design of its new branch in downtown Albany, N.Y.
Sharing insight on enhancing consumer experiences and improving efficiency, Diebold's advisory services group assisted with the branch transformation design and strategy, arriving at an intimate layout that streamlines consumer visits and encourages relationship building. Providing branch concept planning and implementation services, Diebold's advisory services team helped Kinderhook Bank determine the optimal design and flow for its new location. They decided on a collaborative environment that also provides efficient self-service options. Both the branch's new, interior In-Lobby Teller (ILT) terminal and exterior walk-up ATM will enable consumers to complete automated cash and check deposits, as well as other transactions. When inside, consumers will have the option to use the ILT or work directly with a teller. "We're dedicated to providing the most advanced technology for the convenience of our customers," said John A. Balli, chief executive officer, Kinderhook Bank. "Diebold's newest branch transformation technology gives them the opportunity to manage more transactions on their own. As they do, our staff will have more time to assist with more complex needs and build deeper relationships." Formed in Kinderhook, N.Y, in 1853, Kinderhook Bank celebrated its 160th anniversary last year. When its new office opens in September 2014, the bank will operate seven full-service branches in the region. Inside the downtown Albany location, Diebold's branch transformation technologies will give consumers an efficient in-branch self-service option for managing their visits. "We wanted to ensure consumers could get in and out of Kinderhook Bank's new branch efficiently for routine transactions. But we also wanted to encourage interaction," said Raja Bose, vice president, branch transformation and advisory services, Diebold. "The branch's layout and use of this advanced technology gives consumers choices to suit their needs. The setup also affords staff the time to better understand consumers' needs and promote additional financial services." Kinderhook Bank plans to open its eighth location in Latham, N.Y., later in 2014 following a similar model as the downtown Albany location.
