The new service supplements their managed firewall/intrusion prevention service, and acts as a safety net to assure private member data is not exposed to the internet.

Compliance Commander is placed on credit union and bank networks to prevent the loss of unencrypted customer information. The system is installed next to the financial institution's perimeter firewall and monitors all network ports and protocols, preventing, in real time, the loss of unprotected data contained in emails and attachments such as, spreadsheets and word documents, Instant Messenger communications, file transfers and custom applications.

"With new Internet risks and vulnerabilities appearing every day, we did not want to take any chances with our members' personal information," explained Terrence Griffin, VP Information Services at Atlanta Postal Credit Union. FiLink's new Compliance Commander System stands guard at our network perimeter 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to make sure no personal member information leaks out and that we stay compliant with NCUA regulations and the provisions of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA)."

In addition to preventing the loss of customer information, Compliance Commander's Web-based management system provides real-time alerts and detailed forensics analyses so that financial institutions and managed service providers can respond rapidly to potential identity loss incidents. The management system also provides detailed reports and includes an incident ticketing application for tracking progress on compliance management issues.

Richard Duncan, Chief Information Officer for FiLink Inc. explained, "Identity theft is the most popular and fastest growing form of consumer fraud with individual consumers in the U.S. alone losing well over $50 billion to identity thieves. Information leak prevention technologies such as Compliance Commander have become essential for financial organizations entrusted with the safekeeping of personal information. Firewalls and intrusion prevention systems alone simply cannot assure private information does not leak."

Like an information "safety net," Compliance Commander is a real-time, inline network monitoring and auditing system that assists financial institutions in preventing compliance violations and loss of private information. Just a "bump-in-the-wire," Compliance Commander is a transparent network sensor offering real-time alerting and auditing of any kind of network traffic with 100% accuracy. Compliance Commander operates in conjunction with Intrusion's powerful Dynamic Data Dictionary (D3) technology to allow the Compliance Commander's sensors to stay in sync with all customer data. Unlike other compliance systems that merely identify possible patterns or trends, and cause multiple false positives, the Compliance Commander alerts only on the exact matches of the customer's private information.

Ben Bittle, Intrusion Director of Product Management explained, "Intrusion expanded our Value Added Reseller offerings last quarter to continue meeting the needs of credit union and bank customers with our Compliance Commander. We will continue expanding these offerings and our channel to ensure every credit union and bank has the opportunity to prevent the loss of personal customer information from their networks and to meet GLBA requirements."
