Lombardi Software today announced that Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life) has signed an enterprise BPM license for Lombardi Software's TeamWorks.

Allianz Life, one of the primary companies of the Allianz Group, offers life, annuity, long-term care and healthcare excess of loss products through nearly a quarter of a million independent insurance agents, registered representatives, and brokers in the U.S. The Allianz Group is one of the largest integrated financial services organizations and the 14th largest corporation in the world based on gross revenue (Fortune, August 1, 2005).

"Allianz Life needed a BPM platform to meet the demands of our enterprise process improvement initiatives as well as have the capability to scale as we continue to grow," said Tom Bauer, Vice President of Application Services IT at Allianz Life.

Allianz Life will use Lombardi's TeamWorks Enterprise Edition 5.5 and the TeamWorks Enablement Practices in the BPM implementation now underway. Allianz Life's operational process initiative is designed to support underwriting, claims processing and remittance across several business units and support divisions. The TeamWorks platform will be the backbone of the initiative, giving groups within Allianz Life visibility into process and business performance, driving down operational costs and providing a framework for continuous process improvement.

"We are delighted to have been selected by Allianz Life as their BPM provider," said Rod Favaron, president and chief executive officer of Lombardi Software. "The TeamWorks platform helps improve multiple processes across the enterprise, and is capable of meeting the challenges of large-scale deployments while maintaining the flexibility required to change as quickly as the business changes. Lombardi will meet the BPM requirements of any organization, regardless of size or industry."

Lombardi Software continues to capitalize on the rapid adoption of BPM within the financial services sector. In April, Fiserv Insurance Solutions announced a strategic partnership with Lombardi to offer a BPM solution dedicated to the insurance industry. The combined solution is the first in the industry to optimize processes across multiple departments, multiple systems and multiple platforms. In May, Lombardi announced that Aflac had deployed the TeamWorks platform to better orchestrate its business processes around policy management and to gain new insight into process performance through business activity monitoring (BAM).
