TAIFEX was established in 1998 and currently offers 19 products, including stock index futures and options, interest rate futures, single stock futures, equity options and gold futures and options.
As part of this mandate, Deutsche Bank will provide end-to-end onshore clearing and settlement services for the TAIEX index futures and options trading of Eurex's trading members. The link for 24-hour trading and clearing of TAIEX Futures and Options will be realised by listing derivatives contracts on Eurex Exchange (daily futures) with underlying positions in the corresponding contract/series of the TAIEX Futures/Options traded on TAIFEX. This Link will create an overnight market for existing participants looking for hedging opportunities, and for new participants from Asia and Europe by giving them access to the TAIFEX Futures and Options market after Taiwanese trading hours.
Bryan Chen, Head of Global Transaction Banking - Taiwan at Deutsche Bank, said: "We are proud to be chosen by Eurex as payment bank for the Eurex/TAIFEX Link. This mandate further demonstrates Deutsche Bank's position as a leading transaction bank in Taiwan. With our comprehensive suite of transaction banking services in this market - including custody and regulatory reporting - we are also well positioned to be the banking partner of choice for Eurex' trading participants."
