Advanced self-service terminals, collaborative work areas and knowledgeable service representatives will greet customers of Alpine Bank's new Union Station, Colo. location.

With guidance and solutions from Diebold, Incorporated (DBD), the bank is expanding into a new market with a new branch model. The open environment location will allow customers to efficiently manage routine transactions and will feature deposit automation-enabled Opteva® Branch Performance Series™ in-lobby teller terminals.

Serving the western side of Colorado for more than 41 years, Glenwood Springs, Colo.-based Alpine Bank is expanding eastward into the Denver market. Working with Diebold Advisory Services for its 37th branch, the bank sought a new design that welcomed interactivity and streamlined transactions. Customers will manage their own cash and check deposits, balance inquiries, withdrawals and other transactions on Diebold's Opteva 923 in-lobby teller terminals.

"Entering a new market with a more advanced service model is our opportunity to deliver a transformed branch experience to our customers," said Norm Franke, Regional President of the Denver Region, Alpine Bank. "We'll be delivering a more innovative banking experience that is more efficient for our customers and our operations."

By virtually eliminating the teller cash drawer, customer service representatives can now take advantage of Diebold's 228 Express Cash Recycler (ECR). This teller automation solution accepts, verifies, sorts and stores cash securely. It then dispenses deposited cash for withdrawal transactions, minimizing cash counting and vault trips so employees have more face time with customers.

The branch features a technology bar where customers can explore Alpine Bank's online and mobile banking solutions. In addition, a community area includes information about local events.

"The Union Station location's open, inviting design will encourage deeper relationships between Alpine Bank and its customers," said Mychal D. Kempt, vice president, North America operations, Diebold. "This collaborative banking environment will allow Alpine to enhance their members' banking experience."

Diebold is delivering multiple outsourced services to support the uptime, availability and compliance of the location's terminals. In addition, Alpine Bank is planning to trial Diebold's Concierge Video Services™ on the terminals in the future, which will enable customers to connect with customer service representatives via video right at the ATM.
