Singapore's Singtel moves to direct carrier billing with Onebip by Neomobile

Onebip by Neomobile, the global mobile payments service, and SingTel, a leading telecommunications provider in Asia, today announced the launch of Direct Carrier Billing for Onebip merchants operating in Singapore.

This partnership will allow SingTel subscribers in Singapore, to charge purchases from Onebip merchants directly to their mobile phone bills.

Onebip Merchants such as Game Publishers and App Developers, will benefit from a more advanced carrier billing technology, higher pricing flexibility, better commercial conditions, increased conversion rates and ultimately new and increased revenue streams. SingTel and Onebip by Neomobile will also support merchants wishing to enter or develop their presence in the Singaporean market, with local promotion and marketing activity.

Mobile payments via direct carrier billing enables merchants to reach new and unbanked customers who prefer to use a simple, secure and fast way of paying for their purchases without the need of a credit card or bank account. With the largest mobile network in Singapore, SingTel's post-paid customers who make up the majority of subscribers will now be able to purchase digital goods and services online from their favourite merchants using Onebip's mobile payment service.
