Extending the reach of its breakthrough technology, Skyway enables companies to leverage their SAP investment - making their business information more accessible and reusable. SAP INFO Newsletter wrote about this in its March 2005 issue, Crossing Boundaries article which focuses on the $45 billion powerhouse, British American Tobacco's SOA Journey.

Jared Rodriguez, Skyway Software CEO and one of the authors of the UDDI Specification explains, "Many companies' Enterprise Application Strategies are based around consolidation and rationalization of their key business systems on the SAP product suite, which is moving to a J2EE framework. These current strategies include support for both SAP and Microsoft portal solutions. These solutions are based on the two different technology frameworks, which necessitates the utilization of Web Services standards for integration of portal components (portlets) to data, applications and other portlets."

Rodriguez, adds, "It is important that the SOA solution companies select is compatible for portlets. This is another differentiator with the Skyway SOA Platform because it supports automatic deployment of WSRP enabled portlets as an addition to its intuitive design via its SOA Platform. Plus, this portlet option is set up to be as easy as clicking a check-box option - so now every service can be in a portal. What takes weeks for developers to build can now literally happen with a simple click of a mouse."

Leveraging application reuse, which equates to gains in productivity and financial savings, is one of the promised business values of SOA. Skyway differentiates itself in the SOA market space by providing the only platform built specifically for the full SOA solution lifecycle with its development, governance, and deployment components.
