14 March 2014  |  1362 views  |  0 Source: Bank of England

Following the Bank's decision in 2013 to print the next £5 and £10 banknotes on polymer, the Bank is today announcing that it has entered into a contract with Innovia Security to supply the polymer material for the new-style £5 and £10 notes.

Innovia will establish a plant in Wigton, Cumbria, to produce polymer for banknotes. The plant will be operational from 2016.

Notes will continue to be printed at the Bank's printing works in Debden, Essex.
