The acquisition is the first part of TNS' growth strategy to become the communications and connectivity solutions partner of choice for the retail, banking and financial services industries.

Process Logistics takes the headache out of managing the installation and maintenance of payment terminals at the retailer's point of sale. With the birth of Chip & PIN, there are an estimated 700,000 plus terminals across the UK, largely owned and managed by the banking community. Outsourcing terminal maintenance and logistics to TNS, and combining with other connectivity solutions, helps banks to reduce costs and concentrate on their core activities.

"The acquisition of Process Logistics is a key part of our growth strategy as we look to further develop our solutions portfolio and expand our customer base," explains Ray Low, managing director, TNS (UK).

"Banks, retailers and financial services providers are all looking for ways to add value to their customer proposition whilst keeping tight control of their operational costs. Improving connectivity between branches and partner organisations, and outsourcing non-key business processes to third parties will help them achieve these goals," adds Low.

David Salter, managing director of Process Logistics, will join TNS with other members of his team and will report to TNS' Business Development Director Alan Stephenson Brown.

"We're delighted to join TNS at this exciting time in the industry," says David Salter. "Terminal management is a real headache for most banks, which is why it makes sense to outsource the role to a trusted partner. By working as part of the TNS offering we're well placed to make this service available to TNS' existing customers and develop the solution as part of a broader product suite."
