Fiserv (FISV), a leading global provider of financial services technology solutions, today announced that SAC Federal Credit Union, based in Bellevue, Neb., has selected the DNA account processing platform and several surround solutions to accelerate its rapid growth.
The $670 million asset credit union cited the platform's flexibility and member-centric design as factors that will help it attract new members and expand relationships with its existing 75,000 members.
A 2012 Better Business Bureau Integrity Award winner for business ethics, SAC Federal Credit Union has grown its assets by an annual average rate of 16 percent over the last three years to become Nebraska's largest credit union. SAC FCU's success, achieved under the tenure of NAFCU CEO of the Year, Gail L. DeBoer, has enabled it to invest in its members with better rates, a new headquarters and advanced technology in the form of DNA.
"DNA will empower us to serve members with the latest technological innovations, setting the stage for our continued growth towards the $1 billion asset mark," said Gail L. DeBoer, president and Chief Executive Officer, SAC Federal Credit Union. "Our membership will benefit from real-time channel integration with DNA. Plus, we can more quickly offer meaningful financial service products and services to meet their needs and attract new members."
Recognized by industry-leading analysts for its technology, user experience and breadth of functionality, DNA from Fiserv is the first open, person-centric core banking platform built for collaboration. DNA was completely rewritten using Microsoft's leading .NET Framework for a state-of-the-art core platform that banks and credit unions can rely on for the long-term.
With DNA, SAC FCU benefits from 24/7 real-time processing, robust retail, mortgage and commercial banking capabilities, and a 360 degree view of its retail and business relationships.
The unique customization and extensibility opportunities made possible by DNAcreator and DNAappstore™ played a key role in SAC FCU's decision to select DNA. With the DNAcreator development toolkit, the credit union's technical staff can create seamlessly integrated, custom core extensions called DNAapps™ that add new functionality, screens and processes to DNA. SAC FCU can sell its DNAapps to other financial institutions as well as purchase those created by others through the DNAappstore - the first collaborative online marketplace for custom core applications.
"With DNAcreator, we'll be able to develop our own core applications to streamline operations and create new products as DNA scales with our growth," said DeBoer. "We greatly anticipate contributing to the DNAappstore as well as leveraging the innovative DNAapps created by other Fiserv clients."
"With DNA, SAC FCU gains a platform that will scale with the credit union's impressive growth and has the flexibility to support its current and future business strategies as they work towards the one billion asset mark," said Steve Cameron, president, Open Solutions Division, Fiserv. "We look forward to supporting this progressive credit union as it delivers value and tailored solutions to its members through DNA and an integrated suite of surround solutions from Fiserv."
In addition to DNA, SAC FCU will implement Velocity loan origination, ATM Solutions, Nautilus enterprise content management, Profitability Analysis and the CRM/BI suite for DNA. The credit union will leverage the open architecture of DNA to integrate its existing Fiserv solutions, including Voice Response for DNA, Prologue for financial management, WireXchange for wire transfer processing and AML Manager for anti-money laundering.
"Fiserv has enjoyed a strong partnership with SAC FCU for over 20 years and we are delighted to continue our strong working relationship with Gail and her team. SAC's selection of DNA is further endorsement of the stability, leadership and vast array of technology options offered by Fiserv and how we strive to enable our clients' success," said Mark Sievewright, division president, Credit Union Solutions, Fiserv.
