Today, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a global leader in smart devices and services, expands consumer offerings available through Samsung Wallet, a practical and easy-to-use mobile app for storing tickets, boarding passes, membership cards, coupons, and more, with the addition of new partnerships across several industries-including transportation, coupons and hospitality.

New partners like American Express, United Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, Malaysia Airlines, Amtrak, Valpak, eGifter, Gyft, Yowza, SpotOn, Agoda, HRS, Opodo and Thrillcall are joining the Samsung Wallet ecosystem, which includes partners previously announced at the Mobile World Congress 2013 - Walgreens, Expedia, Belly, Lufthansa, and Hotels.com.

"We are focusing our efforts on enhancing Samsung Wallet through strategic partnerships and providing users access to useful content," said Dr.Won-Pyo Hong, President of the Samsung Electronics Media Solution Center. "With mobile ticketing and coupon redemption rapidly on the rise, this service will help consumers keep it all organized and take advantage of relevant money-saving offers while on the go."

Samsung Wallet allows users to store and organize coupons, tickets and memberships under different categories while also enabling them to manually create digital versions of existing membership cards. The Samsung Wallet experience can be further personalized through location and time-based notifications. Moreover, the Samsung Offers lets users discover and clip digital coupons directly to their loyalty cards from participating grocery retailers.

Samsung Wallet is available for download on the Galaxy S® III, Galaxy S® 4, Galaxy Note®, Galaxy Note® II and Galaxy Note 3 from Samsung Apps (http://apps.samsung.com) or Google Play. The app is now available in the U.S. as well as other countries around the world.

Samsung is looking to add new partners to bring more exciting functions and offers to Samsung Wallet users. For example, American Express is providing its card members real-time access to their account balances and latest transactions through Samsung Wallet. "With the American Express Ticket for Samsung Wallet, we've created a powerful new way to securely connect our card members to the information that matters most to them, in a way that only we can," said Leslie Berland, Senior Vice President, Digital Partnerships and Development at American Express.

Users are also able to load boarding passes from United Airlines—the exclusive U.S. airline launch partner. "We're excited to be the exclusive U.S. airline launch partner with Samsung, offering a more convenient travel experience for our customers," said Mark Nasr, United Airlines Managing Director eCommerce. "United is building the industry's most useful mobile travel tools, and Samsung Wallet perfectly complements the United App for Android."

Samsung Wallet provides an opportunity for merchants and developers to extend their customer reach among Samsung smartphone users.
