Ingenico (Euronext: FR0000125346 - ING), leading worldwide provider of payment solutions, has completed a deal with Nets, a leading supplier of merchant solutions in the Nordic region. This deal gives Nets the opportunity to deliver a more secure unattended payment solution for parking, without local storage of card numbers.
To-date, Nets has successfully carried out pilots of the iSelf-Service technology at one parking location in Sweden as well as with vending machines in Denmark and Norway. Further pilots will be carried out in Finland.
As part of the initial rollout, Ingenico will provide Nets with an integrated payment solution based on a secure PIN Pad and secure card reader (iUP250 and iUR250). Ingenico's solutions also meet the most advanced security requirements being the first PCI-PTS 3.1 certified solution with SRED and open protocol modules. The next step will be to include contactless capability (with the iUC180b). This will be the first contactless transaction device to be launched on the market which is approved by the PCI security standards council.
Jose Luis Arias, Managing Director, Ingenico Northern Europe and Iberia, commented: This deal with Nets demonstrates a growing demand for unattended payment solutions and Ingenico's commitment to meeting this demand with innovative, market-leading technology. As a first for Northern Europe, we're confident that iSelf-Service Solution will improve the payment security and efficiency of payments within the parking sector."
Heikki Kapanen, Executive Vice President in Nets said: The parking solution from Nets enables the parking systems to charge cardholders with the correct amount in a secure manner, without local storage of card numbers ensuring that the solution is up-to-date and compliant with all regulations."
Nets will offer regional partners, the iSelf-Service solution, not just for parking but for all other markets that require unattended secure contactless payment solutions.
