By adding a presence in Chicago , SIX Financial Information gains scalability and geographical diversity to its existing footprint in Savvis' Weehawken, N.J. , data center campus, plus expanded opportunities to deliver low-latency network connectivity to businesses colocated in Savvis' data centers.

"As more and more of our customers use hosted data centers, we have an opportunity to reduce their cost of ownership by establishing a presence in the same centers," said Barry Raskin , managing director of SIX Financial Information. "Cross-connections within the same facility are far less expensive than long-haul land lines."

While SIX Financial Information has operated its own redundant data centers for more than 25 years, Raskin said that taking advantage of Savvis' managed hosting services helps the company cost effectively address exponentially growing data volumes.

"In addition to reducing data transport costs for our customers, Savvis' Tier 3+ data center gives us the flexibility to support our growing IT footprint," said Wally Beddoe , vice president of operations, SIX Financial Information. "The facility's scalable power supply and environmental controls, plus the added comfort of physical and logical security that meets our stringent corporate standards, helped make it a very easy decision to put critical internal and customer systems in Savvis' hands."

"We are extremely pleased and honored that SIX Financial has decided to further extend its use of Savvis Markets Infrastructure by expanding to one of our Chicago data centers," said Roji Oommen , managing director, financial services, for Savvis. "We look forward to building upon our already successful relationship and continuing to provide great service to SIX and its clients."
