Bluefin Payment Systems, a leading provider of integrated payment solutions for software vendors, has released the QuickSwipe mobile payments Software Development Kit (SDK) for Apple's iOS mobile operating system suitable for use with iPhones and iPads.

The SDK enables third-party developers to use Bluefin's PayConexTM platform in their own mobile payment applications. PayConex secures merchant transactions with features such as tokenization and transparent redirection, while providing debit card/credit card/ACH processing and recurring billing.

"Our partners are developing their mobile apps at a rapid clip and we wanted to give them a tool that would make the addition of PayConex into their mobile app very quick and simple," stated Bluefin Chief Technology Officer, Tim Barnett. "The overall value of adding our payment processing engine is that our partners' clients never have to leave the app to pay, which enhances the overall customer experience."

According to a report released in June 2013 by research firm Gartner, Inc., worldwide mobile payment transaction values are expected to reach $235.4 billion in 2013 - a 44% increase from 2012. Additionally, there were 200.8 million mobile payment users globally in 2012, and that numbers is expected to rise to 245.2 million in 2013.

"Consumers want to conduct business on their phones and on their tablets - and payments are an integral component of conducting business," said Ruston Miles, Bluefin SVP and Chief of Product Innovation. "But mobile app developers don't necessarily have the time to create a custom payment application. That's why we've published our QuickSwipe SDK, to greatly minimize the development time for adding mobile payment processing."

The SDK interfaces with the IDTECH encrypted Shuttle Mobile Magstripe Reader, helping developers comply with PCI data security standards. Additionally, the SDK includes test accounts for the development and testing of applications, and full documentation and code samples for the iOS mobile operating systems.
